[Adonthell-general] Alignment |

As far as alignment is concerned I would suggest a simple alignment value,
which ranges from -5 to +5. A value of -5 would indicate that the character is
an evil villan and will be avoided by most NPCs (while attracting attention
with the guards). On the other hand a value of +5 means that the character is a
well regarded hero, loved by the people (of course such a character will not be
offered certain items (such as stolen goods)by a merchant).
While all characters start with a more or less neutral alignment value this
changes throughout the game. Whenever you commit atrocities you loose points
(until you reach -5), while helping others improves your alignment.
Your alignment restricts the use of certain items (and spells ect.). For
example a holy sword could only be used by good characters.
Your alignment also influences how other NPCs act. But this is not only
influenced by alignment,a character's charm skill, his race, as well as
helping/not helping an NPC also changes his perception of the character.
Generally I think as many roleplaying issues as possible should be handled in
game (differently from case to case), and not represented by statistics or
numbers.
Greetings, Nils!
