Hi,
Why do we do this? ;)
Non blocking mode eats more CPU... the only pro I can see is, when you often 
change songs... then the delay (wainting until buffer is empty) between the two 
songs isn't there with SND_PCM_NONBLOCK
But this delay also exists in the OSS output plugin (it opens the /dev/dsp* in 
blocking mode)
