A new Aspell snapshot is now available:
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/aspell-0.60-20040413.tar.gz
Major Changes in This release:
* Unicode Normalization is now supported as described in
http://aspell.net/devel-doc/man/Unicode-Normalization.html
* Language names can now include a '_' so that the country
code may be included when it is appropriate.
* Bug fixes
Important changes that were introduces in the 20040402 snapshot:
* The dictionary format unfortunately changes again due to a number of
bugs that were discovered.
* The format and name of the character set data file changed again.
The extension changed from .dat to .cset. The format and name
should be stable now.
Important changes that were introduced with the 20040317 snapshot:
1) I decided to name the next Aspell version 0.60 since almost every
part of Aspell has been refactored or rewritten to some extent.
2) Dictionaries and data files are now installed in LIBDIR/aspell-0.60
so that Aspell 0.50 and 0.60 can more peacefully coexist.
A new version of the experimental dictionary packaging system is now
available. Major changes include
* Support for creating the Unicode normalization map files (*.cmap)
* Support for accepting a '_' in the language name
* Unicode Hebrew map file
* Vietnamese tcvn3 map file
* Special iso-8859 Latin map files. There are like the base character
set except that the C0 and C1 control areas were remapped to include
any decomposed letter found the Unicode blocks "Latin-1 Supplement"
and "Latin Extended-A" and any combining marks used in any of the
Latin Unicode code blocks "Latin-1 Supplement", "Latin Extended-A",
"Latin Extended-B", "Latin Extended Additional".
