gaspell segfaults

hi,

i just joined this mailing list.
i compiled aspell .28 and gaspell .28 on my linux system(2.2.10-ac9) 
with egcs 2.91.66, glibc 2.1.1, glib 1.2.3, gtk+ 1.2.3. and gaspell segfaults 
when i:
1) run gaspell
2) open ChangeLog which came with it.
   first word, Gaspell, is highlighted with red color.
3) click on file->exit
4) it asks "The contens of file ChangeLog changed. Do you wish 
   to save your changes" (i haven't change anything, but it asks)
5) i click on No.
6) core dumped.
