Both computers have Emacs installed in "C:/Program Files/Emacs".  One
has miktek installed in C:/Miktex and the other in "C:/Program
Files/Miktek 2.5" (this is the one that has problems).

Could be a problem with spaces in file or directory names.  Could you
provide the file config.log?
