If you mean the presumably conflicting `C-c -' key binding then I have
to say that I cannot reproduce this.  And indeed the version of
cdlatex.el obtainable from Carsten's home page has `cdlatex-item' bound
to `C-<RET>' even though it is documented differently.

For me this works when point is in a math construct, e.g. $...$.

Anyway, cdlatex is not something which is developed or maintained by the
AUCTeX project.  It would be better if you addressed question regarding
the package to its author, Carsten Dominik, perhaps via the org-mode
mailing list.
