I have a hard time understanding that backtrace.  All I can see is that
it occurs in `font-latex-make-built-in-keywords'.

What emacs version are you using?

Oh, and you could try deleting font-latex.elc so that font-latex.el is
used.  This might improve the understandability of the backtrace.
