You were too fast ;-)  I have only two notes from Emacs developers guide
which we try to follow[1, 2]:

- If the commit is a tiny change that is exempt from copyright paperwork,
  the commit message should contain a separate line like the following:

        Copyright-paperwork-exempt: yes

- Commit messages should not contain the "Signed-off-by:" lines that
  are used in some other projects.

Yes, the form looks Ok.  I recommend to send this link in future in case
the wording changes:

@Paul: Say GNU Emacs here which covers AUCTeX as well and you don't have
to go through the process again in case you want to contribute to Emacs
itself in future
