Hi Folks,
Can't believe I almost forgot about this list. :P

Myself and a few others have written a letter to the Senator Kim Carr
calling for software patents to be abolished due to the harm they cause
the software industry and society.

Please sign the letter:
http://apps.softwarefreedom.com.au/patents/

We're up to about 360 signatures. Aiming for 500. Anything you can do to
help us get to this milestone will be greatly appreciated.

We'll be delivering the signed letter to Senator Carr late next week and
CC'ing parliamentary secretary Richard Marles and also the Advisory
Council on Intellectual Property (ACIP).

I found out today that the ACIP review findings are due to be delivered
around Feb 2011. Although the ACIP isn't currently taking public
submissions, I think it will be beneficial to keep them in the loop.

Regards,
Ben
