they reported how they use a macro via aclocal and I just shaped it
up for autoconf.

I can add your netdb suggestion and ask them to test the macro.

Then I'll re-submit it, stating that they have tested it.

(I did this with the previous version of my macro.  They verified that
it works in their environment.)

Or should we give it up?  I don't feel good if we just throw away their
bug report, without incorporating the knowledge they contributed to
autoconf.
