problem with the size of @name@

hi:
  after my make configure process is complete, the variable
@mibgroup_list_lo@ is left blank in the Makefiles, this bug appears as the
size of @mibgroup_list_lo@ increases to a certain point.  I have looked at
configure.status and also echoed the variable at every occurrence in the
configure file and its contents are solid.  Is there a size limitation to
the @name@ syntax or what autoconf can handle(if yes what is the size
limitation)? and secondly, is there any easy way around this besides
splitting the variable into two separate variables?
