Except that the point of the question was to be able to use the same
testsuite in both 'make check' (uninstalled) and 'make installcheck',
where the PATH determines which binary is being tested.  So, if valgrind
requires an absolute path, then you'll need to code a path-walking loop
into your testsuite, not configure.
