For an example, on cygwin, sin() is in libc, but on other platforms, you
have to use libm to get sin(). So:
AC_SEARCH_LIBS([sin], [m])
will set ac_cv_search_sin to 'none required' on cygwin, and '-lm' on
other platforms.
