Good.  For reference, I will post here (or in a new thread, in case I mess up
with "git send-email" ;-) the series of patches that I intend to push to the
non-rewindable branch 'ng/master'.  Some of these patches had already been
posted before, but since they have been tweaked/rebased in the meantime, I've
decided that re-sending them is the best choice.
