[FYI] tap-testsuite-work merged back into testsuite-work

There are two reasons for this merge.

First, keeping those branches separate was becoming too confusing, and
was bringing almost no added value.  Second, and more important, any
further testsuite work should anyway *actively* take advantage of the
recent developements in the Automake-generated testsuite harness, as
doing so will provide a real-world testbed which is still fully under
our control -- a very good scenario for smoking out bugs and APIs
deficiencies.
