As the AVR-Doper code does not have this string, but only the standard
serial routines do, I suspect you are using the wrong port connection
to the AVR-Doper. You are *not* supposed to specify your
/dev/whatever name, but the magic string "avrdoper" instead
(-P avrdoper).
