[avr-chat] Version of gcc

Hi,
I have decided that it is time to get my toolchain updated.
This is, as most will realise, quite a big task because I must recompile
many existing projects and check that they still work, are not bigger
than the flash space etc..
The question is simple, but I realise that the answer may not be :-)
I will use binutils 2.20, avr-libc 1.7.0 (latest versions).

Which version of gcc should I use ?
(There have been some comments, true or untrue, that some later versions
give problems with avr)
