That's indeed kind of strange. The ATmega644A has two UARTs (as the
smaller 324P and 164P always had), while the ATmega644 has only one.
I think that's the major difference.
Sure, it's a drop-in replacement nevertheless, but using the same
device IDs is confusing, for sure.
