When I use elfcoff that is included in the avrfreaks release
of avr-gcc and tell AVR Studio to open the output file, it
crashes. If I understand correctly, AVR Studio supports the
coff format since it does not complain like it does for an
elf file.
I have built binutils/gcc/avr-libc 020203 from sources on
cygwin, so I am not using the avrfreaks distribution. They
produce correct target files as far as I can tell, I have
done some small test programs on the STK500.
I do "elfcoff <elf-file> . <coff-file>" to produce the coff
file. Maybe I am missing some flags to elfcoff?
Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong here?
Some info that may help:
I am using AVR Studio 3.53, and trying to debug code using
the JTAG ICE, which is connected to the STK500. The
connection is OK, since I can progam the chip correctly
through the JTAG ICE. I am using the mega323.
Has anyone succeeded with a similar setup? Comments are
welcome.

/Ted
