I tried it, but it gave me problems (I was not able to program and verify
the board, while avarice worked ok).

I need such programmer because I give the software to people that program
and test the boards with automatic procedure.

In the first stage, I installed AVR-STUDIO and I gave them intruction on how
to program fuses and software using AVR-STUDIO,
but using a batch file that do all is simpler and safer.
And also you can use different PC, only a serial port is required and a
floppy is required.
