Looks like you're trying to use an automake version newer than
1.4, which is not supported by our files.
Strange, the current ./reconf script is supposed to detect this
situation, and to refuse to use it.
Hint: if you install automake 1.4 as "automake14" or "automake-1.4",
it should automatically detect this, and use this one.
