I actually used a combination of the regular installation procedure suggested
on the avr-toolchain installation guide, and the crossdev workaround.

Doing so gets me further along in the process, but I still get some install
errors associated with unknown functions.

The error log gives the following;

Specifically, are these references (__epilogue_restores__,
__prologue_saves__) necessary, or can I comment out the associated lines?
