Follow-up Comment #1:
Technically, this was/is correct: the ATmega644 (the one
/without/ any suffix) does not have an USART1. It's the
exception within the entire product family (because it's
been the first device).
However, ATmega644A/P/PA *do* have an USART1, and were indeed
misclassified, so I fixed that.
