Hi Craig,avr109 describes the bootloader protocol, and some devices with bootloader do have 2 devicecodes. One for avr910 and one for avr109. So both are valid devicecodes for m8. AVRdude should know both, in case that the Programmer is a real m8 Bootloader. (2 entries in avrdude.conf?)
