[Bayonne-devel] Test equipment functionality |

A fairly basic (possibly off topic but I'm not sure) question which I am
hoping someone will help me with.
I am wondering if Bayonne with some E1 PCI cards or even some of the E1 cards
on their own are capable of the following functionality.
I have a single E1 link on which I need to record the data going in both
directions from 1 timeslot. Having made the recording I will then need to
play back this recording over the same timeslot in both directions.
What I am doing in this particular instance is recording a successful and
unsuccessful fax transmission and effectively playing them back in a
controlled way to be able to isolate the fault on some transmission equipment.
I would need a system with 2 E1 interfaces that would look transparent (more
or less) to the data while affording the capability to record a single
timeslot and then play it back. Signalling is not an issue in this case as
the environment that it will be recorded in is SS7 and the call start will be
identifiable by the absence of idle code. Is this possible with PC +
telephony harware and software such as Bayonne or do I need dedicated test
gear?
