Follow-up Comment #3, bug #25157 (project bibledit):

I wonder what could be the cause of this behaviour. It happens on your
machine but not on mine.

Could the cause of this be a corrupted general configuration file?

Do you mind trying out to rename the file configuration.1.xml in directory
.bibledit/configuration/ to another one, and attaching this file to the bug
report, and then to see if it works fine after that. What will happen is that
a new fresh configuration.1.xml will be created once bibledit is started, so
that any corruptions that might be in this file are cleaned out.

Weird indeed!
