Details:
it would
*possibly* be nice if it were possible to have a "include standard
cross references" capability.
For some editions, where cross references are just a list at the end of the
verse, it'd be relatively easy to use, but personally I don't like that
layout. For more readable editions, where cross references are done with
footnote marks, then the user would need to find the right place in the
translation to insert the mark. That suggests that there be an interface
which shows the cross reference list for the current verse, with their
content, and allows some sort of drag and drop to put in the
cross-reference. - perhaps a little like the key terms in reverse?
I simply wanted to know, if it is possible to transport the xref notes from
one project (in whatever language) into another one (with the automatic change
in the abbreviation into the local language).
If this is possible, then it will be a great help, because then Bible
translators in one Bible Society can cooperate together, and produce Bible's
which has the same references in all of their Bibles, simply by transferring
the xref notes from one version to another.
I would suggest that users would get more value from this effort if you
implemented it in two parts:
a/ extract xrefs from an existing project into a list
(allow the user to edit the list)
b/ apply the list of xrefs to an open project.
This gives a lot more flexibility to the user than just transferring directly
from one project to another.
