It's never happened to me, but we might as well cover all the possible
cases when it's easy (and document the exceptions if we can't cover
them).  Here, it's easy to handle file names containing "*/"
correctly, so we might as well do it.

Also, there is a long tradition of using "unusual" names for special
purposes -- the "yy" prefix is just one example of that.  It wouldn't
surprise me that much if somebody wanted to put "*" in a file name at
some point..
