Dear bug-fixing team,

I am getting a `wrong-type-argument' error in a multi-file
document, when I try to

(setq LaTeX-includegraphics-read-file
      (quote LaTeX-includegraphics-read-file-relative))

as advised in
<URL:news:address@hidden>.  The steps
to reproduce are as follows:

 * Set up two files

,----[ ~/Desktop/master.tex ]
| \documentclass{scrbook}
| \usepackage{graphicx}
| \begin{document}
| \end{document}
|
| %%% Local Variables:
| %%% mode: latex
| %%% TeX-master: t
| %%% End:
`----

,----[ ~/Desktop/subdir/servant.tex ]
| %%% Local Variables:
| %%% mode: latex
| %%% TeX-master: "../master"
| %%% End:
`----

 * Open, edit and save them after having evaluated

  (setq TeX-auto-save t)
  (setq TeX-parse-self t)

 * Start vanilla'd XEmacs and evaluate

  (setq debug-on-error t
        stack-trace-on-error t)
  (require 'tex-site)
  (setq LaTeX-includegraphics-read-file
        (quote LaTeX-includegraphics-read-file-relative))
  (setq TeX-auto-save t)
  (setq TeX-parse-self t)

  * Open `servant.tex' and start including a graphic:

  C-c RET includegraphics RET

  * The error is triggered now. The presented backtrace contains
    this:

Debugger entered--Lisp error: (wrong-type-argument listp #<compiled-function

It is the first time, that I customized
`LaTeX-includegraphics-read-file'. Well, until last Sunday, I
even have not been aware of that variable.

Franz.
