Do you get any error messages in the run buffer accessible with `C-c
C-l'? It would probably be better if you filed a separate bug report
using `M-x preview-report-bug RET' after you tried to generate some
previews. This will gather a lot of useful information.

Did you save the changes you made to `font-latex-fontify-sectioning'?
Do you get a backtrace if you insert
(setq debug-on-error t
stack-trace-on-error t)
as the first lines into your ~/.xemacs/init.el file, restart XEmacs,
and load a LaTeX file?

I've both set and saved the changes to `font-latex-fontify-sectioning'. The backtrace does not show any issues. Hope this helps...
