Just my ignorance of ConTeXt. The first few example files I saw
happened to have that (maybe in the more ancient manuals, I forget
where), so I was starting my own files with it. Now I know better and
use \starttext
So I agree, get rid of the \\|typing
Or better: The multi-con.tex file has
text: tekst text
text text
testo text
(The 'testo' is for Italian.) You could replace the typing regexp with
testo
