Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did:
cp zeitplan.tex "zeit plan.tex"

and tried:

latex "\nonstopmode\input{zeit plan.tex}"

This is the way AUCTeX currently invokes latex, and it doesn't work. It
does work if the filename is escaped with double quotes:

latex '\nonstopmode\input{"zeit plan.tex"}'

(or latex \\nonstopmode\\input{\"zeit plan.tex\"}).

I don't know whether this introduces any new incompatibilities. But at
least on my system (GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(1)-release) it works.n
