Thanks for testing.  Again, also to Stefan.

One thing which would still be interesting to know is, if it works in
case `preview-fast-conversion' is nil.  This can be checked by doing
`M-: (setq preview-fast-conversion nil) <RET>' before generating
previews, e.g. with `C-c C-p C-d'.  The setting only has an effect if
TeX PDF mode is disabled, i.e. when the Dvips route is being chosen.
