I want to write a very large number

Or many subindexes:
\begin{equation}
    2_{2}=4\quad 
    2_{2_{2}}=16 \quad 
    2_{2_{2_{2}}}=\infty.
\end{equation}
Also the displacement gets calculated with respect to base line and is
not stacked. This is very wrong if one mixes indexes and powers
\begin{equation}
    2_{2^{3}}=?\quad 
    2_{2_{2}^{3}}=?
    2_{2_{2}^{3_{1}}}=?.
\end{equation}
It is trivial to see the problem if one makes the ``raise'' parameter
larger in the fontification setting.
