bug#26630: 2017-04-23; LaTeX inline math in captions are not highlighted

The LaTeX inline math in captions are not highlighted. For example,

    \begin{figure}
    \caption{\(x_1\)  $x_1$}
    \end{figure}

$x_1$ is highlighted but \(x_1\) is not.
