There were 'field studies' at several libraries, contextual interviews based on these, interviews with library staff, and followup workshops where earlier results were used to shape questions.
Overall, one could imagine how it could be more specialized to the needs of those interested in this topic and how the various services presented could be more integrated. "The Zotero sensors should work with most library catalogs, some popular dot-coms such as Amazon, and many gated databases.
As it turns out, that's just how Jeff Bezos sees it. org does not behave like this now. The study took an ethnographic approach, using a variety of qualitiative techniques to try to build up a rich picture of library perceptions and expectations.
This section also talks about responses to sugestions about better visibility for library staff and their specialities, and about the physical library.
Users tended not to turn to librarians for support in the search phase; they are most likely to ask for assistance in the retrieval phase.
And in some cases share them. User reviews were seen as less useful than expert reviews.
It utilizes a host of web services, including many from OCLC, and will take several paths depending on what it finds at various stages.
