Also, after running the script, try this:

mkdir this
cd "this:breaks:rpath"
ldd test

..which results in:

        linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fff2dfff000)
        libfoo.so => /tmp/a/this/libfoo.so (0x00007fb2259fe000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007fb2256a9000)
        /lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007fb225bff000)
