Hello,
When we want to remove files from the home directories a .cfengine.rm file is
created in each directory it scans. This is very undesirable, eg: Mail readers
like netscape think there is a new mail folder.
I have several questions/remarks about the home tidy directive:
1) why is it recursive?
This means if we want to remove one file from the users
home directory it can also delete this file in other directories.
I like the idea that we can specify the recurse directive. It saves
time/resources.
2) Why must it write a '.cfengine.rm' file in every directory is visits?
The following solutions are possible:
-) There is a global switch to tutn it on/off
-) There is only one .cfengine.rm file in the user home directory.
-) We can specify where the files must be created. Just like the
Repository attribute.
I personally think that there must be global switch. So we can turn
it off.
Regards
