There's a problem in cfengine-2.0.0/doc/Makefile.am with the following line: doc_DATA = ../COPYING ../ChangeLog ../INSTALL ../NEWS ../README ../SURVEY Due to the ../ in front of the file names the files go into $(docdir)/.. instead of $(docdir). IMHO the installation of these files should be left to the package maintainer or the local administrator anyway.
