Hello all,

It the view of the recent security issues with cfengine, I've tried to
upgrade from 2.1.6 to 2.1.9 on an IA64 machine (Altix 3000)

However I found something which looks like a bug:

On the client side (IA64) I get (cfagent -v):

[...]
cfengine:: image exists but destination type is silly (file/dir/link doesn't
match)
cfengine:: source=, dest=/var/cfengine/inputs/cfagent.conf
[...]

(note the empty source)

On the server side (IA32) I get (cfservd -d2):

[...]
CompareLocalChecksums(t ^? ~YR^M^H {^? ^V,MD5=d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e)

ChecksumChanged: key t ^? ~YR^M^H {^? ^V with data
MD5=d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e
Direct comparison (no db)

ChecksumFile(m, t ^? ~YR^M^H {^? ^V
t ^? ~YR^M^H {^? ^V can't be opened
[...]

instead of something like:

[...]
CompareLocalChecksums(/var/cfengine/master/config/cfagent.conf,MD5=646d633ec098b700e6071c003fd2b336)

ChecksumChanged: key /var/cfengine/master/config/cfagent.conf with data
MD5=646d633ec098b700e6071c003fd2b336
Direct comparison (no db)

ChecksumFile(m,/var/cfengine/master/config/cfagent.conf)

Checksums matched ok

Transaction Send[t 9][Packed text]
[...]

Note the 't ^? ~YR^M^H {^? ^V' odity (taxt taken from vim,
actually ^ and ~ marks digraphs) which is actually:
74 ec 7f bf 99 52 0d 08 f0 7b 7f bf 16

Looks like a bug to me, does anybody have a solution ?

(note: The IA32 client works OK, the 2.1.6 worked OK)

Cheers,
