On my linux installation (standard official RH6.1), the Makefile in the
example/ directory is incorrect. (as are the instructions)..my linker requires
this:
-Wl,--rpath=/usr/local/lib
and NOT -rpath/usr/local/lib
without the -Wl, etc... the program fails to link correctly...
