There is a "make" target, "make doxy", which rebuilds the browsable
documentation from source if you have doxygen installed.  We were asked to
remove the documentation from the source distribution because the class
diagrams are constructed using gif's.  The doxygen author is in the
process of creating a non-gif capable release of doxygen, and we expect to
distribute pregenerated documentation with the release tarballs again.
