I do not think anyone is claiming that lsb is prohibited from
requiring uname to support -d. In fact, I would guess that other
vendors would avoid adding -d to their unames, unless it were to
be for the analagous purpose. Were multiple vendors to actually
do that, *then* is the time to suggest a POSIX standard.....
