I retract my suggestion for %J. Reading through ISO-8601, I see that the standard specifies the one-based format %Y-%j. I do think %i is useful though. For example, when drawing the hour hand of an analog clock the correct angle is... 360 degrees * %i / (24*60*60). Cheers, Shaun
