bug-fileutils is obsolete; fileutils was merged into coreutils years ago,
and the latest stable version is 6.9.

Consider upgrading.  The latest version of mv complies much more closely
with POSIX, and hopefully the bug you mentioned has been fixed, since
POSIX does require that "termination at any point shall leave either
source_file or the destination path complete."
