Sorry for joining the conversation late (my cable internet connection was
down for two weeks). Was this on cygwin? If so, you may be better off
querying on the cygwin list (cygwin AT cygwin DOT com), where people more
knowledgeable about the quirks of porting GNU software to Windows would be
able to chime in.
