Hi Ralf,
I wondered about that, but that use is only
in the definition of EXTRA_DIST:
EXTRA_DIST = $(man_aux) $(NO_INSTALL_PROGS_DEFAULT:%=%.x) help2man
which is used only via "distdir".
So a dist-related build like "make dist" would use that,
but a plain "make" or "make install" should not.
