Unfortunately, in the presence of things like loopback mounts, NFS and
autofs mounts, and transparent and layered filesystems, I don't know of
any way to tell for sure whether two different paths refer to the same
directory or not even on one machine, let alone between two potentially
different machines.  If you have any suggestions, I'd like to hear them.
