I noticed the Cederqvist for CVS 1.11.7 that it is noted that this is a
hard to track down bug.
I can reliably reproduce this bug using:
Server side:
CVS version: 1.11.7
OS: Solaris
Version: 9
Client side:
CVS version: 1.12.1
OS : Debian Linux
Version : testing(sarge)
Kernel : ftp.kernel.org 2.4.21 + CONFIG_HZ patch
Access method:
ssh using OpenSSH_3.6.1p1 on the server side and "OpenSSH_3.6.1p2 Debian
1:3.6.1p2-9" on the client side.
Repository:
Located on NetApp filer exported to the Solaris box via NFS
Local directory:
Home directory also located on NetApp filer accessed via NFS
Steps to reproduce:
Add a large text file to a module (in my case a 32 MB file created by
concatenating /usr/dict/words with itself until I got the required file
size)
I get the error followed by an eof message from the client side reliably if
I remove the local file then perform a "cvs up" in the module directory.
