That's not strictly true. It strips attachments that don't have a
type of text/plain. My mail client (previously Netscape Mail, now
Thunderbird in its new incarnation) manages to package diffs/patches
as text/plain. I'm not sure why some clients don't.
Regardless, if you can't find a mail client you can convince to
package attached patches with a text/plain MIME type, then an inline
patch is probably your second best option, if you can prevent your
mail client from line-wrapping or "flowing" (line-wrapping, but worse)
the text. :)
